Summary
- First direct-download macOS release of cmd voice.
- Adds Developer ID distribution packaging, notarization, DMG installation, and Sparkle automatic updates.
- Keeps dictation settings, history, diagnostics, transcription, and optional local formatting on the Mac.

- Ships a signed Apple Silicon app bundle in a notarized DMG.
- Adds Sparkle update checks from the menu-bar app.
- Publishes release notes, checksums, and update metadata on the cmd voice download site.
- Preserves the existing local development install flow for permission testing.
Known Limitations
- v2026.7.19 is Apple Silicon only.
- Minimum supported macOS version is 15.0.
- The first local transcription model download is required before dictation can start.
- Dictation requires signed-in CMD Pro, grandfathered, or admin access with
voice.basic.
Upgrade Notes
- Existing cmd voice settings, transcript history, support files, and installed local models are preserved where possible.
- If macOS treats this as a new signed app identity, grant Microphone, Accessibility, and Input Monitoring permissions again from System Settings.
