cmd voice 2026.7.19

Summary

  • First direct-download macOS release of cmd voice.
  • Adds Developer ID distribution packaging, notarization, DMG installation, and Sparkle automatic updates.
  • Keeps dictation settings, history, diagnostics, transcription, and optional local formatting on the Mac.

Changes

  • Ships a signed Apple Silicon app bundle in a notarized DMG.
  • Adds Sparkle update checks from the menu-bar app.
  • Publishes release notes, checksums, and update metadata on the cmd voice download site.
  • Preserves the existing local development install flow for permission testing.

Known Limitations

  • v2026.7.19 is Apple Silicon only.
  • Minimum supported macOS version is 15.0.
  • The first local transcription model download is required before dictation can start.
  • Dictation requires signed-in CMD Pro, grandfathered, or admin access with voice.basic.

Upgrade Notes

  • Existing cmd voice settings, transcript history, support files, and installed local models are preserved where possible.
  • If macOS treats this as a new signed app identity, grant Microphone, Accessibility, and Input Monitoring permissions again from System Settings.
